This is rather bizarre. A pinky finger paid the price of iPad ownership..
The man accused of ripping off part of a shopper’s pinky finger while stealing an iPad said he feels sorry for the victim.
In all honesty, the guy claims to be a drug addict and going after an iPad was actually a sound business (yet criminal) decision as it is surely more effective than going after three iTouches or someone’s pin collection. (Let’s exclude moral judgment for a moment here though)

Elance_Alex posted on the Elance blog his analysis based on a quick look at the iPad SDK – here is a quick summary of his analysis:
- Similar to Touch: “For those of you thinking that the iPad looks like an overgrown iPod Touch, you’re not too far off the mark.”
- New Features: “The new iPhone 3.2 OS appears to have quite a few iPad-specific features that might not ever make it to the little brothers”
- File Directory, mountable: “There appears to be a file directory that will be easily accessible through mounting on a PC or Mac computer.”
- Camera Support: “While the iPad will clearly not have a camera at launch, the iPhone 3.2 OS for iPad shows support for a camera.”
- No Multitasking: “Those of you hoping for multitasking on the new iPad or iPhone software, don’t hold your breath.”
- Universal Development: “The SDK will reportedly support a new “Universal” development category for applications compatible with the iPhone, iPod, and iPad devices.”
