Citrix has announced successful porting of their iPhone Citrix Receiver to the iPad platform. Apparently it works much better on the new platform as the screen size and keyboard size of the iPad allows for a more user friendly setup. This is an important development as the productivity features locked into your home or work PC/Mac can be easily unlocked by accessing the productivity machine with the Citrix thin client. Now, imagine possibilities that this opens up for Health Care, Education, Field Work, etc. I can bet that LogMeIn will be the next one to announce porting of their LogMeIn Ignition iPhone app to the iPad (I am a VERY happy user of the app – it manages remote control of your Mac/PC seamless on that tiny, tiny iPhone screen).

This also demonstrates that we’ll soon have a torrent of apps built for iPhone and ported onto iPad – while this was expected by the users and announced by Apple it’s nice to actually have app developers confirm the notion.
